I have to disagree. Dr. King's power at the time was "oration in presence." It is only now, after a few decades, that we fully appreciate his words.

In addition, and holding certain factors constant, his followers would not have been able to afford iPods. And even today, I'm willing to bet there are vast differences across race and socio-economic status which would likely lead that assessment unchanged.

Dr. King knew his power was also in his personal presence. That is why he marched himself. That is why he placed himself in the "line of fire." He would not have podcast. He was a leader and liberator of people not techies.

Would Gandhi, MLK,Jr.'s inspiration, have podcast? Most definitely not with his couple of items of clothing, his spinning wheel, and his salt. He, too, knew it was about personal presence. And, he also accepted the risks inherent in that requirement.
