MENLO PARK, September 8, 2006 (PodTech News) — Nintendo has received its first batch of CPU’s for the Wii gaming console. Named “Broadway,” the chips are manufactured by IBM and are key to Wii’s architecture. IDC Senior Industry Analyst IdaRose Sylvester spoke with PodTech’s Rio Pesino about what this means for Wii’s initial launch.
Reporter’s Notes: Nintendo’s announcement has received both a lot of praise and a lot of criticism from gamers. Some feel the announcement is an indication that the Wii may come out earlier than anticipated. Others feel the news is just a bunch of hype.

Nintendo Wii RULES! Although out of the nextgen game consoles, Nintendo may come out short in terms of features, such as the HD DVD, Nintendo’s robust speed and slick controller design will give PS3 a run for its money. Plus, the operations production for Nintendo will help as well. I predict the win goes to Nintendo for the season’s number one console of choice.
