Adobe Acrobat is the product software giant Microsoft would love to kill. But Adobe is hoping to pull ahead – way ahead – in the competition with Microsoft for office worker tools with Acrobat 8. Here you get a good demo of the top features in the just-announced Adobe Acrobat 8.0 from Director of Product Management of the Knowledge Worker business unit at Adobe Systems Key features are a much improved form handling package, built in collaboration functionality, and more. Don’t miss the separate interview with Rick where he explains to PodTech why Adobe is continuing to invest in Acrobat.

[…] Adobe just released Acrobat 8 and last week I got an exclusive look at it through my camera lens when Rick Brown, Director of Product Management of the Knowledge Worker business unit gave me a demo. I really liked the forms handling and collaboration features. It’s best to download the video and watch it off of your hard drive. I’ll have an interview with Rick Brown up shortly. […]

[…] Look at AMD’s Virtual IT Experience and compare it to the video demo Rick Brown did in his office showing off Adobe Acrobat. One took about 15 minutes of Rick’s time to do. One take. No committee meetings. No makeup. No lights. One guy to sneak into the company (I do all the video, audio, and interviewing). But the AMD one probably cost near a million dollars to produce and needed a LOT of Web design time, not to mention studio video shooting, which is very expensive. […]

[…] By the way, how do I know that the bloggers are missing out? Cause Christopher Coulter is here at the ScobleCasa. He watched the demo of Acrobat 8 and said “that’s cool” at several places. He even said nice things about my video skills. Oh, boy, now the world has gone topsy turvy. […]

I’d love to view this video, but unfortunately it is in QuickTime and I refuse to load bloatware like that. Hey, why don’t you encode your videos in RealMedia just to make it suck even more. Proprietary formats suck! I hope all of your shows aren’t going to be in Quicktime!

Great video Robert! Thank goodness we now get to watch your stuff without being burdened by the goofy Microsoft format(s). Nice smooth camera work too.

[…] He also pointed to a video of Adobe Acrobat 8. I’m not a pro in this area, but I think I know why most people don’t care about Adobe Acrobat 8. Most people that know about it and would want to use it aren’t bloggers. […]

I seem to have lost the functionality of the previous version which I unfortunately deleted before installing the new version.
I used to be able to cut a section of a webpage and paste it somewhere but the toolbar that had this and other functions has disappeared. I can still zoom in and out sometimes. I am using an Apple iMac with the latest version of Apple’s OSX.

What is the Adobe website to download upgrade 8.0 Adobe reader?
November 28th, 2007 at 9:15 am
Just to let you know that I had downloaded adobe 8 professional for 30 days trial. Unfortunately, due to problems with my lap top I had formatted the hard disk. As a result I lost the 30 days trial version.
I have had no chance to lean on trial version. I am sure you can find out the amount of time I logged into trial version.
Can I ask if I download again, will the 30 days start from the original day I downloaded?
Warmest Regards
Y Dahelvy

I am not interested in the business part of the acrobat 8 product but I would like a probram that will let me store photos in it and send to customers that they can then order from me but not have the option to copy or print them.
My daughter in law has your acrobat 8 and that is how she has been sending pic for me to view.
I am hoping I can get a partial program for this purpose as I would never use the rest of it.
I will be anxious to hear from you,
c.g.

Recent Mac Problems
Adobe Acrobat Reader V8 Will not download or install correctly on my Mac running OSX Tiger 4.10.
I had a recent reinstall at the Apple Store and at the Genius Desk three weeks ago
Any ideas why?
I am unable to have Mac updates work as well.
I receive a message that my Modem is not configured correctly.
I contacted Comcast and they told me my modem WAS configured correctly and that the problem is a Mac issue.
Any ideas what is wrong?
Is this a firewall issue do you think?
Thank for your help.
