LOS ANGELES, September 28, 2006, (PodTech News) — A consortium of leading mobile operators, network and device manufacturers and Internet content providers this week launched dotMobi. The new company — a product of collaboration between Ericsson, Microsoft, Nokia, Samsung Electronics, T-Mobile, Vodafone and others — will develop Internet usage over mobile phones, so we should expect to see the “.mobi” suffix a lot more often. DotMobi CEO Neil Edwards spoke with PodTech’s Matt Kelly about how he thinks the new suffix is going to improve mobile distribution of content.

Neil Edwards’s interview is outstanding. I appreciate his ability to articulate the premise and principles behind .mobi. I look forward to wide-spread use of mobile devices for internet access.
