In today’s news, Google finally pulled the trigger, ending much public speculation over whether or not it would purchase the video-sharing phenomenon YouTube for more than $1 billion. YouTube also announced agreements that might shore-up some of its copyright-related vulnerabilities. Online video search service Blinkx also had an announcement to make after it inked a deal with Microsoft. Also in the newscast, Symantec’s CEO’s rosy prediction for the company’s next few years, analysts’ take on IT spending, stock options in the news and the Nobel Prize in economics.
