Eddie Codel and Irina Slutsky kick off the first episode of Lunch Meet today, with an interview and demo of Wetpaint by Wetpaint CEO Ben Elowitz. Wetpaint is a wiki meant for the everyday user. Very Web 2.0 in its execution, Wetpaint makes creating easily editable web sites a snap. Ben takes Eddie and Irina on a tour of the basics of the service, showing them how easy it is to update content, insert and resize images as well as embed videos from services like YouTube.

[…] We did a Lunchmeet today. We’ll do one a week for now (on Thursdays) to build our process. In November we’ll try to go more — want to make sure we can keep up with the encoding, editing, and publishing. We filmed this today during lunch. I hate to say this, but Irina’s contribution didn’t add to the quality.

[…] Wetpaint is a wiki type product (built on ajax) that allows non techy users to interact with the product with a high degree of control. The focus on the average user is very refreshing and the product still looks quite professional. There is an interview over at Podtech with the CEO Ben Elowitz. […]

I like the concept for this series. I thought Irina added an important element and I don’t think the show would have been nearly as good without her.
The sound and video were fine except I hope you find a way to improve on capturing screenshots.
The feature that impressed me the most about Wetpaint was the way Ben resized the embedded video by simply clicking on the plus and minus button.
I view a lot of videos during the course of the week and I sure wish the viewer people gave us that functionality within our browsers.
Keep up the great work. See you next Thursday.

WetPaint has a very impressive tool set. And I like the interplay with Irina coming from a less hardcore techie background. Looking forward to seeing more!
