SAN FRANCISCO, December 1, 2006 (PodTech News) — At long last, Microsoft has launched its Vista operating system for businesses. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer called it the biggest launch in the company’s history. It could have been even bigger, though - the other shoe drops at the end of January, with the release of Vista’s consumer version. The Department of Homeland Security sent a warning to financial services and stock trading companies - uncorroborated threats from Al Qaeda have them worried about cyber terror. Verisign re-ups with the Commerce Department for another six years of dot-com oversight and Japan’s Softbank signs one of the world’s biggest refinancing deals - will it start a trend?
