SAN FRANCISCO, December 29, 2006 (PodTech News) — Robert Scoble was invited by Senator John Edwards’s campaign team to join the Senator, his staff, other “social media” representatives and the more traditional press corps for the first few days of his presidential campaign. It’s been a marathon few days, chronicled at Robert’s popular Scobleizer.com, as well as here on PodTech’s ScobleShow channel. These all-important first few days of the Edwards campaign have made a splash in the blogosphere for several reasons, from the inclusion of social media people like Robert and a team from online news site Rocketboom to the Senator’s desire to communicate with people online (he spent some time yesterday chatting with several hundred people online at DailyKos.com — before spending time with several hundred people in person at a Town Hall meeting in Iowa). Robert spoke with PodTech’s Paul Lancour from his hotel room in New Hampshire, where the whole thing starts all over again today.

[…] (via Gaping Void) Podtech, a leading pod and video cast network, is sending Robert Scoble to cover the Edwards Presidential campaign. Scoble covers technology and marketing on his Scoblizer blog as well as Podtech’s ScobleShow. Edwards has also included reporters from Rocketboom in his press entorage as it tours Iowa and New Orleans. And Scoble, for one, seems to be being won over by tech savvy Edwards campaign staffers. Nice early move by the Senator and his “social media” savvy staff. And if he does it well, as he will with these guys, it could be pivotal. The blogosphere will no doubt get politically bloated and the tough part will be keeping the candidates message fresh. And they’re off!

I THINK MRS EDWARDS IS SMART KEEPING HER FAMILY BY HER SIDE AS ANY MOTHER WHO LOVES HER CHILDREN WOULD WANT TO BE WITH THEM. LEAVING THEM WITH NANNYS OR PRESCHOOL WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE TO IS GIVING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF RAISING YOUR CHILD TO SOMEONE ELSE. I HAVE RAISED TWO CHILDREN AND HAD TO WORK WITH ONE I HATED LEAVING HIM EACH DAY. THE SECOND ONE WE HAD MORE MONEY AND I SPENT EVERY MOMENT I COULD WITH HER AND I AM SO GLAD I DID. SO I AGREE WITH YOUR DECISION TO TAKE YOUR CHILDREN WITH YOU.
