I had a chance to sit down with VoIP guru Opher Kahane. Opher Kahane is vice president, voice technologies at Juniper Networks, where he oversees VoIP strategy. Before its purchase by Juniper, Mr. Kahane co-founded Kagoor Networks, acting as its CEO and primary driver behind the session border control market. Mr. Kahane was an early developer in the VoIP industry, is the author of multiple patents, a key contributor to the H.323 standard, and a founding member of the VoIP Forum. Before co-founding Kagoor in early 2000, he served as vice president, strategic planning and global alliances at VocalTec Communications, which merged with his previous company, ClassX, where he developed the industry’s first commercial VoIP product.
Opher and I talk about what’s happening in the VoIP market and what’s happening with Juniper. Opher is a real pro who has tons of experience in VoIP and next generations VoIP services. Juniper’s purchase of Kaagor Networks is a real coup.
