[…] Landed here at Vegas, there are CES related displays in the airport, such as this mound of photos. I was annoyed by this cheap advertising. I’ll be headed down to get our CES passes with Michael Johnson of Podtech. Scoble is alluding to something big… I know what it is, but you’ll have to wait to see. (update: ok sorry for being so exclusive, but here’s the big news) I’ll be at the BlogHaus later tonight, really looking forward to meeting and greeting all the bloggers that are coming. […]

[…] - [video] Podtech.net and Seagate are sponsoring a Bloghaus at the Bellagio for people coming in and out to podcast, videoblog and blog. That’s one thing — bandwidth at CES — that has notoriously been an issue for attendees (even with an EV-DO card). Scoble already posted an exclusive lunch video with Bill Gates. - [blog] Engadget has the keynotes covered - [video] CNET TV has live and recorded CES action including a discussion with Bill Gates (lots of Gates coverage so far) on the upcoming Windows Home Server. Nathan has a bunch of additional details. - [agenda] The day one agenda for CES 2007 details the major happenings. - [RSS] Receive “late breaking news from CES 2007″ with international CES 2007 attendees feed — subscribed. […] I’m about half-way through the exclusive chat Robert had with Bill Gates yesterday. The discussion wide ranging, at this point (I paused the video … in a new Flash-based player, btw … ) they are talking about convergent devices. Here’s what struck me, though. Before the chat really got into full swing, Bill and the rest of the people were just chatting. Just that interesting small talk people have before a "formal" discussion start. At one point Bill asks Robert what a particular device is in front of him It’s Robert’s audio recorder (which comes in rather handy has he learned during his interview with John Edwards recently). Bill looks at it, asks the typical geeky questions we’d all ask. Okay, I’d ask. Regardless, it just struck me that no matter how rich he might be, Bill’s driving passions are still some of the things that geeks want. Faster, better, cooler. […]

[…] In the past few months, I’ve noticed a trending in Fortune 500 companies integrating Bloggers, Podcasters, Viral Video at events. In early 2006, there was fear and caution from the this unknown medium, but I see it taking hold now. Here’s how smart corporations are benefiting from Social Media Here’s a few examples of how corporations can benefit from embracing social media and those that have voices about your market. Example 1: Bloggers and Corporations meet in real life Some companies have figured out that executives and product teams at a corporation can greatly benefit from meeting with passion bloggers in a particular industry. I helped to coordinate the Hitachi Data Systems meeting with the CEO and the Web 2.0 crowd (of course most are bloggers), Microsoft invited me to their IE7 launch with their product team, last week, Michael Dell hosted a roundtable, and colleague Robert Scoble was invited to have lunch with Bill Gates.
