Gentlemen (and ladies of course) start your blogs. Opening Day of the Bloghaus saw an overflow crowd of bloggers, video bloggers and podcasters. The event, which was sponsored by Seagate, Microsoft and AMD, jam-packed a wide-spectrum of community media into a Bellagio Hotel Suite, all amid the activity around CES 2007. Participants talked tech, blogged and blogged, saw the unveiling of Seagate’s FreeAgent family of hard drives and played the latest next-generation video games. In addition, Bloghaus visitors got a chance to see Microsoft Vista in action and watched a live feed of Bill Gates keynote, all from a high-bandwith, massive HD-screen tech dreamhouse.

congrats on the bloghause, looks like a successful idea.
Just a technical request: plz can you loose the calipso music in the background - it’s hard to hear what people are saying. Plus the 4 bar loop gets monotonous.

[…] This 19 minute video is a good overview of Sunday night’s BlogHaus. There’s some pretty well known tech folks if you watch carefully. […]

O homem do Ring Nokia, talvez tenha saído do anonimato. Será que na hora de comprar um nova unidade de armazenamento de dados se vão lembrar da Seagate? […]

[…] Consumer Electronics Show I’m back to Seattle from CES, still reeling from the one-two punch of CES plus Las Vegas. I’ve been to plenty of developer shows in my time, but never to CES. It is a different beast entirely than a PDC, TechEd or MIX. A few highlights from my time there: I gave a talk to the Windows Vista RTM lab about the partner opportunity with Vista, blogged about by Mary Jo Foley here. A bunch of great folks there, fun to talk to. In fact, here’s are some photos of me I found on IStartedSomething (My eyes are shut; can someone use GroupShot to fix that please?) showing my favorite feature of Vista, which is c:program filesreference assembliesmicrosoftframeworkv3.0: Don’t all those dlls make your mouth drool? I can’t wait to see as more apps start appearing that unleash the possibilities latent within this platform. I spent most of my time at the conference at the Microsoft Partner Pavilion, showing off, well, partner applications. Can’t blog too much about it, as the pavilion was by invitation only. But here’s a picture if you are curious. Also, spent some time at the Yahoo pavilion, where they were showing off their Messenger for Vista application: I watched Bill Gates’ keynote from the Bloghaus which was lots of fun. Caught up with Robert Scoble and had some other interesting conversations with the blogger Web 2.0 scene. During Gates keynote, I cheered when he gave a shout out to Windows Presentation Foundation. (If you search the transcript, you’ll find it.) Go WPF! Admidst all this, I did have some time to walk the floor. Intense. My favorite booth from a design point of view was the CMC Magnetics booth. While everyone else was going for sleek, smooth, classically technical with lots of black and silver, lots of geometry, CMC had this bubbly, organic, pastel booth with plastic orbs, invoking Takashi Murakami. Here’s their booth: And here’s a Murakami sculpture: Here’s a close up of the orb things; note the flower petals scattered among the CDS: And finally, unexpected among all the gadgetry and technical wizardry: a booth featuring ukulele, acoustic, nothing tricked out, just a ukulele: Too much fun; I hope I have a reason to go back CES next year. Of course, I’ll be back in Vegas soon enough for MIX. Hope to see you there! […]

[…] Let me say up-front, that I’m really sorry I never made the trek over to the 24×7 Bloghaus that Podtech.net had running. When I get back to Vegas next year, one of the first things I’ll be doing is ringing Scoble on his cell to get my name on that list. […]

[…] The press room of the future I forgot to share the future newsroom, where PodTech hosted BlogHaus at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas for 120+ hours straight at a suite in the Bellagio. Here we accepted bloggers, pocasters and videobloggers as the new journalists. It wasn’t exclusive however, we embraced mainstream journalists in addition. This video is a good sample of this event, the output, just staggering, see my clip report. What is PodTech? It’s a network of video bloggers, (some are former journalists) we’re an example of this new media generation, we break news, be interesting, or add value. […]

[…] Dear FSJ, that is my horn and I would appreciate that you didn’t install him. The guy sitting right next to Scoble is my best friend Greg, we were both at the Podtech Bloghaus talking about the iPhone, Web 2.0, you name it. I remember that day vividly because it was the first time I met Robert Scoble in real life and I turned into a stuttering baffon because it was just an awesome experiance. I saw Dave Winer at the party too, but was too afraid to say hi. To be honest Dave looks like an intimidating person when he bangs away at a keyboard which is what he essentially did during the entire duration of the party. […]
