In this installment of “The Lost Google Tapes,” we hear from Michael Moritz, of Sequoia Capital. Sequoia was an early venture capital investor in Google, and Moritz serves on the boards of both Google and Yahoo!. In this conversation, he discusses some of the things that distinguish each of these companies, including their respective co-founders, and their different approaches to building a management team. This interview, with PodVentureZone’s John F. Ince, was recorded in January, 2000. Although it may sound odd at this point, Moritz says that the there were concerns at the time about the young co-founders and their ability to turn polished technical skills into equally polished business acumen. This is the sixth in an extended series called, “The Lost Google Tapes.”
