    Question: how do you see people moving from one social network to another as their interests change. I think people will want to take some of their content and ID with them and leave others behind but don’t see a path for this ….

    Alex –

    I remain hopeful that the tech world will agree upon a shared format for information across social networks. It will make life a lot easier as social networks increasingly become the underpinnings for lots of different experiences on the web. Marc Canter, the creator of Macromedia and now of PeopleAggregator, has been spreading the gospel on this for some time now and I think he is right. There is a need for a shared format. The early attempt at such a format was called FOAF (Friend of a Friend) but it never got traction. Hopefully a new format will emerge soon because there is a real need in the marketplace.
