Recently, the Wall Street Journal reported on the growing influence of Web sites like Digg. For example, last summer a popular Digg contributor commented favorably on a family-friendly social networking site called famster.com, thereby causing traffic to skyrocket at the site. Kristin Criss, is Famster’s vice president of operations. Here, joined by fellow Famster execs Jennifer Weaver and Brett Ratner, Criss demonstrates Famster’s capabilities.

At least it is family-oriented. I’ve heard a lot of stories about law suits involving social sites that are accused of fostering violence to young viewers especially to the young adults who use them.
But the question here is how can parents ensure that their kids are viewing wholesome scenes? Do they have to be vigilant 24/7?

I have a family web site at Famster. While I love the:
- Private online networking space for your family and friends,
- Lack of advertising,
- Easiest-to-use blogging tool, and
- Unlimited space for photos and videos
I am frustrated by some of the “obvious” things they can do to make the site more intuitive and user- and visitor-friendly.
That’s why I’ve launched my blog at http://www.ILoveFamster.com.
Through it, I share what I think is both fabulous and frustrating about Famster. If you are a current, former, or potential Famster user, stop by and share your thoughts.

I have checked out Famster and it is a great site for families with kids. But what about us adults that would like a clean safe social network??
Well I recently discovered http://www.our-social.com This site has an approval proccess that all the pictures, videos and audios have to go through before they are posted and it blocks all profanity. The site is also easy to use.
