Intel’s mid quarter update did little to satisfy some traders who wanted to see more revenue in the company’s forecast for the current quarter.
But industry analysts say the chip industry looks pretty good, even in moderate growth mode. The latest moves by Intel–at least those that have garnered a lot of press–are pointed offshore. It brings to mind how the IT industry, though headquartered in the U.S., is turning more global. No longer are U.S. companies sending manufacturing offshore in order to make cheaper products for the American market. Companies are building in Asia for the Asian markets.
