PodTech News (December 11, 2006): The media skies are probably clearing a bit for Yahoo as Google’s and Microsoft’s every move are not dominating the headlines as much these days. Comscore Networks says in October Yahoo and its web properties had a solid lead (124 million unique visitors) over Time Warner/AOL (117 million), Microsoft/MSN (115 million), Google (89 million), Ebay (69 million), Amazon.com (44 million), AskJeeves (43 million), and the New York Times Digital (35 million).
New data released last week by the researcher eMarketer of Sunnyvale showed that users spend much more time on Yahoo’s sites. Users spent 3 hours and 38 minutes at Yahoo online properties in the month of August. MSN users spent an hour and 52 minutes at Microsoft sites while surfers stayed for 45 minutes at Google. That’s a big plus for Yahoo (might one say huge) as users actually “use” the site.
PodTech News buzzed Comscore VP of Marketing Solutions to chat about Yahoo. Jason Lopez did the interview.
