Firetide Brings Wireless Mesh to Public Safety

Chris Jensen is a detective with the Phoenix Police Department. Last summer the police in Phoenix rushed to deploy a network of wireless security cameras throughout the city to help track down multiple serial killers. Not surprisingly, Jensen and Mohan Natrajan, the vice president of engineering at Firetide Inc., the company that provided Phoenix law enforcement authorities with the wireless mesh networking capability to support the cameras, also describe how homeland security can benefit from the deployment of wireless networks to local first responders.
