There are tens of thousands of independent music labels out there and IODA helps to effectively distribute and market their music to the online masses. I sat down with Corey Denis, Digital Marketing Manager for IODA, at IODA’s San Francisco office to find out how they do it. Corey describes the problem of independents being represented in large online stores like Apple iTunes and how IODA steps in to make distribution to hundreds of online stores a painless process. Corey also shows us IODA’s PROMONET, an online promotional catalog that makes it easy for bloggers, podcasters and Internet DJs to discover and use independent music. Even notable greats such Elliott Smith (iTunes store) and Jimi Hendrix (eMusic) turn up in PROMONET.
