Miles Automotive Did It!

A five-door, five-passenger, high-speed lithium-ion-powered vehicle capable of traveling 150 miles at 85mph from the Miles Automotive Group will be available to the masses within 18-24 months — for less than $30k. If I were GM, Toyota, or any of the other major automotive brands, I’d be looking in my rear view mirror and watching for this Pininfarina-designed electric vehicle coming up quickly behind me. During the Alternative Fuel and Transportation National Conference and Expo, I spoke with I. Zion Enos, of Miles Automotive, about this world-changing car, the Javlon.

Martin Eberhard of Tesla Motors says that if he produces 10,000 units of his yet to be introduced sedan, his company will be a buyer of more LIon batterys than Dell Computer. Time to invest in a battery company!

I agree Mike–Tesla isn’t the only company relying on Li batteries…now let’s just hope there isn’t an end game in the making, ala Cobysys/Chevron buying the rights to NiMH batteries and preventing them going into mass distribution…
