Intel Research Day: Tera-scale

At Intel’s recent Research Day, we bumped into 20,000 pigs bumping into each other — part of a demonstration into the future of parallel software for multi-core chips. Tera-scale chip technology could revolutionize the PC experience by allowing computers to do many jobs extremely well, from gaming to data crunching to video processing. In this PodTech podcast, Jason Lopez roams the floor of the Tera-scale exhibits and finds an 80-core demo, an explanation of the pigs, and a medical records technology ready to take full advantage of more cores.
