Jeremiah Owyang interviews Rey Ramsey Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the One Economy Corporation multi-national nonprofit organization that brings broadband to the homes of low-income people and provides a multilingual web portal called The Beehive. This interview takes place at the Internet Strategy Forum Summit in Portland in July 2007.

I really found this interesting and the fact that property developers are incorporating IT or web access as part of the housing development programme, as well as getting government assistance in california.

I like the reference to encyclopedias that was mentioned and now how the web has become basically one big one.

This may help to bridge the digital divide, But unless the empowerment angle via education, knowledge and communication isn’t paramount.

Then it maybe just a funbox and alternative to xbox or an extension of junk tv just available via mouseclick and a monitor.
