The energy savings from green technologies in green data centers can be huge. According to Mike Rigodanzo, senior vice president of technology services for Hewlett Packard, energy savings on the power bill range from 20-45 percent, depending on the starting point. As a result, IT managers now consider the management of power to be a top priority. Rigodanzo explains why the demand for energy optimization services is increasing, and what HP is doing to make energy use more efficient in their design of server systems both in house and for clients.
