I have heard carefully the discussions’ recording with Bala. The problem in India is we benchmark everything with US or UK.Some guy working in USA is considered better and superior by default.
I think in India there are highly capable guys available but are not encouraged and given chance.IIMs and these new schools set up here on US models do little service to country. The Indian conditions are busines styles are not taken into account.IIMs and these university schools have failed to develop indian curriculam, books and original literature.Majority of pofessors in technical education are inexperienced theoretical guy wuithout any proven experience in Business.Lot of money is wasted posing as cheap clones of Harvard or Kellog.Much is desired to be done at humble level i india. These schools being opened by people like Bala are 5 star set ups. That is all.Wastage of resources.I disagree with bala that PhD gives better competence to theoretical guys.In fact this limits their caability and restrict area of knoeledge in a thin slice.Publish or perish is most idiotic innovation in USA casuing heaps of recycled garbage of no worth to common man.just imagine a doctor without going to OT , teaching surgery. Thanks god such stupid rules are not in medical colleges.
