A strikingly odd and obtuse conversation with Andrew Keen and Steve Gillmor. Steve rants on how the iPhone is changing the Universe and how Steve Jobs plans on bringing down the cell phone cartel. Keen makes plans on showing off his derriere if Hillary Clinton doesn’t win the upcoming presidential election and Steve promises to bare all if she does.

Amazing that neither of these guys commented about the fact that the US is huge, while the “real” countries that were referenced as having better broadband (Amsterdam [sic] and Korea) are much smaller, so the required capital investments are much smaller.
Andrew Keen, who was supporting the notion that Amsterdam and Korea have better broadband than the US, didn’t assert that the average broadband in all of Korea and all of the Netherlands is better than than in the US.
Also, there are at least 5 national competitors in USA (Verizon, T-mobile, AT&T/Cingular, Sprint, while Amsterdam (sic) and Korea have fewer competitors with more gov’t cooperation and much smaller areas to work.
Couldn’t these factors have something to do with why some places have better broadband than the US?

This kind of retarded obnoxiousness just isn’t entertaining.

If foul language offends you, perhaps you should stay away from videos marked “explicit”. Kudos to Podtech for appropriate labeling.

WTF, but in this case, the W stands for WHY?
I was zapped by the F-Bomb twice. Once in the office when I did not expect to hear it first thing and then on my ipod when it was on random play and my kids where in the back seat of my car.
It is labeled on the website, great, but it is not labeled on iTunes. In fact your feed on iTunes is flagged NOT EXPLICIT. I am sure the folks at Apple will love that you are not following their guidelines.
A. Viewer, I am not so much offended*** as it is that I did not appreciate having that word blast out first thing at work and in front of my kids. I was not expecting it at all from a site delivering Tech content.
After listening to more of it, I did understand why it is there. The interviewer is an obnoxious pig! He comes across as totally disgusting, unprofessional, abusive, inexperienced, and mentally disturbed.
I do not mean this in a good way.
Rush, Oriely, Stern etc…, they are all edgy and get people caught up in the subject, blood boiling and all. Note that they do this without using the F-bomb. They seem to know what they are talking about and how to express themselves. I hate them, but they are masters at what they do.
What professional in media has ever had to resort to what Gilmore does? I should ask, what SUCCESSFUL professional does or did this? He is pathetic.
Kean came across ok, despite Gilmore, but since Gilmore was driving the conversation, both came across poorly. At least Kean didn not seem both offensive and mentally challenged.
*** I was more offended at how lame this podcast was. I want my 30 minutes back.

The best you can say is labeling? The content is bad. The interviewer is arrogant and not prepared. Get some good content please.

I can only comment on the first 30 seconds or so, but Jesus does Steve suck as an interviewer. Is he sober? Anyway, no more iTunes surprises. PodTech’s off my list. Waste of time.

Oh my. Who is this man with the facial hair? I know to avoid his material in the future. If this is supposed to be “tech” its missing a few things. I like my tech without the arrogant interviewer who doesn’t let his interviewee speak and I like it without the rude words thank you. I will go elsewhere to be informed. Podtech what are you doing letting this chimp get air time?
Oh cartel? PLEEEEEASE Jobs just is trying to make money. The only thing he likes to be idealist about is his product looking great. If he is taking them “on” explain why he has turned into such a wimp and locked down the iPhone even more from hacking….oh could it be because AT&T are giving him grief?
A once viewer of podtech content….this reminds me of that Feldman guy….are they related?
