Jay Sears, senior vice president for Context Web and ADSDAQ talks with John Ince about how advertising exchanges have suddenly emerged as premium Web properties with Google acquiring Doubleclick for $3.1 billion, Yahoo! acquiring Right Media for $800 million and Microsoft acquiring aQuantive for $6+ billion. Sears believes that this trend is significant because the ad exchange model drives value both for publisher and advertisers. In spite of the trend, ADSDAQ remains privately held with backing from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Updata Partners.
