Education is on this Ruby Payne focus. She is viewed as an excellent resource for understanding inner city poverty-stricken youth with her "A Framework for Understanding Poverty," book. Jay Smooth gave a true account for the mental state of our inner city youth in five minutes and Ruby Payne has not captured it in two books. All principals should show this in a staff meeting. I am a product of the inner city, but I was not defined by the "jets," as many of my peers were. Very well said Jay. Very well said. As an educator I have expressed the same view to my peers.
