Las Vegas, NV, April 5, 2006 (PodTech News) – When Karim Khoja’s company, Telecom Development Company (also called Roshan), first addressed the Afghan market the rate for a wireless phone call was $2 a minute. Today, coverage has been extended to 150 of Afghanistan’s largest cities and towns, and the price point has dropped to 10 cents a minute during peak hours. “We believe that if people can speak, they will not fight,” Khoja told a morning crowd during his keynote at the CTIA Wireless 2006 trade show. “We’re the third fastest growing market in the world if you consider the GDP,” he noted.
