Las Vegas, NV, April 4, 2006 (PodTech News) – CTIA Wireless 2006, the largest trade show devoted to mobile telephony and wireless technology, begins on Tuesday. CTIA officials expect about 40,000 attendees who will witness product demos from more than 1,000 exhibiting companies.
Though past shows have focused on wireless hardware and infrastructure, this year’s event could very well be about content—music and video. Many companies, especially the bigger players such as AOL, Intel, Nokia and Microsoft, are laying bets that 2006 is the year consumers will be able to acquire audio and video content in a practical way.
Jason Lopez of PodTech News got a firsthand look at the exhibit floor the day before the show opens and spoke with CTIA show director Rob Mesirow.
