EMC Creates Web Services Standard for Enterprise Content Management

Enterprise content management (ECM) solutions have enabled organizations to more effectively manage information. Yet, the lack of an ECM standard has presented a huge challenge: How can content-enabled applications access and manage content among disparate systems?

To solve this problem, EMC, IBM, and Microsoft are joining forces to lead the drive for the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) standard for repository access. This new standard will offer organizations the flexibility they need to get more from their enterprise content management systems.
