“Politics as usual, both Democratic and Republican, is broken,” Howard Dean said in a keynote speech at the 2006 TiEcon in Santa Clara, CA. Referring to issues decided upon in the beltway he emphasized, “If you want those decisions to stay in the hands of ordinary Americans who are so proud to be Americans, run for office.”
