i don’t think much of a magazine that claims to be for educated SOUTH ASIAN WOMEN, but then has a GUY (the publisher’s son, no less) representing it and calling it an INDIAN women’s magazine. Just another example of how INDIANS can’t seem to grasp the evolved concept of SOUTH ASIA, and why the little INDIAN startups refuse to see the value in hiring pulicists or branding experts.

Sejal for an indian you seem to be pretty harsh on the magazine.
I would imagine you would want to promote a magazine focusing on us Indian women

misha. you said it yourself, “us INDIAN women.” just goes to prove my point that the magazine has left our the rest of south asia but yet claim to be south asian.
from the staff listing in the magazine, i see one very well known south asian lawyer in a leadership role at nirvana woman. i see a few others, a doctor and a visual designer on staff as well. yet they are promoting a male as their spokesperson. why aren’t they using their editor to represent? or the founder or the designer, or even the doctor?
the “affluent indian american/american woman” is too sophisticated to not notice these things. it’s just the reality of it. pretty pictures will only get you so far. they need to pay much better attention to detail and be consistent with their messaging to satisfy their “target audience”.

Sejal…its seems like you either know the lawyer your talking about or you are the lawyer yourself.
And if you are with the magazine why would you down something your a part of?
Are you part of this magazine?
