TiECON East: Emerging Trends in Due Diligence and Investment Research

You’ve heard on stock shows on TV and radio, “Do your due diligence.” That goes for the pros even more so. On this TiECON East panel experts like Chris Felstedt of the Merrill Lynch Hedge Fund Product Group, Dave Furneaux with Kodiak Venture Partners, Greg Locraft at MFS Capital Opportunities Fund, and David Teten, CEO of Nitron Advisors discuss why due diligence has taken on greater emphasis after the dot-com scandals on Wall Street and greater scrutiny by regulators. “If you’ve been in the research business for more than five years, you’re not a good stock picker,” said Teten, “because if you were, you’d get a job at mutual fund or a hedge fund.”
