MENLO PARK, July 18, 2006 (PodTech News) – Net neutrality supporters have pounced on Senator Ted Stevens’ (R-Alaska) less-than-tech-savvy description of the Internet as a “series of tubes” and “not a big truck” in a speech.The senator’s words were fodder for The Daily Show and in techno remixes across the web, like The Boldheaded Broadcast.
In other news, Microsoft and Canada’s Nortel Networks today announced a new alliance to deliver unified communications products. Catherine Girardeau reports.

While this is very funny, let’s not forget why we’re laughing. Net neutrality is vital, and Stevens opposes it despite not understanding the issue. To help ensure that other Senators begin to listen to people who do understand the internet
