Robert Thomas, CEO of Infoblox, a rapidly growing enterprise infrastructure player, sat down with PodTech founder John Furrier to discuss trends in DNS and infrastructure. “When you think about DNS, it’s boring stuff,” says Thomas. “But if you think about every network in the world, it’s embedded. It’s kind of the forgotten infrastructure.” With approximately 20 million servers in the world running DNS and DHCP software and more on the way, Thomas sees a world of opportunity opening up over the next few years.
A related DNS story on CNET writes that “DNS could slow broadband service.” Certainly the impact it has could be high — especially with corporate enterprises and medium sized businesses.
