'Snakes' Slithers to #1 at the Box Office

LOS ANGELES, August 21, 2006 (PodTech News) — Horror and comedy mixed to narrowly edge out the competition and come out at the top of the box office over the weekend. “Snakes on a Plane” the suspense-thriller from New Line Cinema, stars Samuel L. Jackson in an over-the-top “so bad it’s good” film that received constant free publicity online and in the mainstream media. Box Office Mojo.com movie analyst Brandon Gray discusses the movie’s success, (or lack thereof, depending on who’s talking.) PodTech’s Matt Kelly reports.
