For creating a new category on PodTech.net, please send an email to publishing@podtech.net. Please be aware that it takes at least 1 week, to fully launch a new category once both the category request is made, and the first publishing request is submitted.

What we need:
1) Show title
The show title (the category name) should never change. This means you need to put a lot of thought into this. You will commit to this name for the rest of your life. Therefore, check to make sure nobody else is using the name and you can legally use the name. Ideally the name should be search engine optimized. The most important keyword(s) of your subject area should ideally be in the title name.

2) Show description
The show description should be highly search engine optimized. You should make your list of keywords associated with your subject area and rank them in order. Write your description around your list of keywords. If you want to focus on making your show description compelling, do so in the first sentence. Very few people read the show description at all, much less beyond the first sentence. On the other hand, people do find shows through searches, and thus will only find your show if it contains the keywords they are looking for in the description.

3) Show requirements
Please let us know how often the show will be posting and how long the show is intending to be produced. While you aren’t locked into this, we do need to know if a show is temporary (event oriented) or is intended to be permenant. Let us know if we need to:
A) Create a WordPress Blog.
B) Register a domain name (please state domain name).
C) Submit to iTunes.
D) Place in site navigation and blogroll (send full URL of their blog).

4) A 600×600 JPEG of highest quality.
Ideally, we should receive a layered PhotoShop file as well, or the Illustrator file used to create this. When designing the 600×600, realize that this needs to be one file that will scale from 60×60 to 600×600 with the most viewed resolution being 170×170. In other words optimize for 170×170, but make sure it’s readable at 60×60. Check out the icons on iTunes for examples of what works.

5) 780×200 JPEG of highest quality.
This is only required if a WordPress Blog is to be created. Ideally, we should receive a layered PhotoShop file as well, or the Illustrator file used to create this.

6) Author list
Please submit the first name, last name, and email address of everyone who would get a byline or will be submitting publishing requests. This can be done in advance of the Category Creation Request or any time in the future. Please make sure to verify the exact spelling and what names/nicknames people want used.

7) Content
We can’t begin the process until the first Publishing Request is submitted. In many cases, we’ll need to wait until 3 (or more) completed publishing requests have come in to fully establish a channel. If your first post is going to be an establishing preview post, keep in mind that it needs to actually contain real content produced specifically for the show.

For Corporate Categories:
We just need 1-3 above along with the tag line that goes on the front door corporate tile. Then we can push the category live when the first content comes in.
