Broadband access for the developing world was a key topic at the Third Global Knowledge Conference, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in December 2007. Attendees there called for action items to to bring underdeveloped nations - including populations sometimes referred to as “the next billion” - into the connected world.
