Videogame chain Game Crazy held a number of Extreme GTA Experience Parties to celebrate the launch of one of the most anticipated games for 2008, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV. GTA IV has received rave reviews from just about every video game Web site out there, including Gamespot, Gametrailers and IGN. The Reboot’s Rio Pesino was at one of Game Crazy’s GTA IV Launch Parties, where hundreds of gamers waited until midnight to purchase their copy of the game.

The Reboot: Grand Theft Auto 4 Review Hits the Web

In this episode of The Reboot with Rio Pesino, the first Grand Theft Auto 4 review is on the Web, weeks before the game’s release on April 29th. Some are questioning the validity of the review of GTA 4, which is the most-hyped game of 2008. Also on this week’s show, Call of Duty 4’s variety map pack shoots down the Xbox Live service, Sony brings back the Dual-Shock controller to the PS3 and THQ unveils Saints Row 2 at its Gamer’s Day event in San Francisco.

L.A. Metro: Fast, Cheap, Clean and Green

I know, I know - flying places is not very green at all, I hear ya - but getting to and from the airport can be. Recently, on a trip to L.A., I decided to bypass the forever clogged L.A. highway system and go the Green LA Girl route and take the Metro. Yes, L.A. has a subway and it rocks. For $2.50 roundtrip, I got downtown from LAX (and back again a few days later) in one hour. I made it to my events and then I made it home to San Fran without ever having to climb into a car and sit in traffic. It was great! I highly recommend public transport to and from airports. Especially New York City where a cab can cost you over $100 roundtrip (take a book if you’re going to JFK, it’s a long ride!). Going somewhere soon? Robert Scoble Interview in Mercury News

PodTech’s own Robert Scoble is featured today in the San Jose Mercury News also known as the Merc here in Silicon Valley. What’s compelling about the story is the openness of the net and how opportunities are created via transparency. Nice article by Michelle Quinn

The Merc writes: “Over the past three years, Scoble has gained fame as the “Microsoft blogger,” a Microsoft employee writing online about Microsoft and its products. His persona is non-defensive and engaging, an online bedside manner he says he learned dealing with angry customers when he worked at a camera store in San Jose.”….

Michelle asks what he learned from Microsoft. Robert says “We were tired of committee-based marketing. Here we were having real conversations with people. On the first day we started Channel 9, the public relations people tried to shut it down. But they couldn’t because 100,000 people showed up. That was three years ago. Now it has 4.3 million unique visitors a month as of two months ago.’

Robert Scoble has been a great addition to the PodTech family. There have been a few announcements since Robert joined PodTech and look for more big upcoming announcements this fall.
