MailShadow Syncs Outlook to Gmail and Google Apps

Cemaphore Systems’ MailShadow for Google Apps keeps your Microsoft Outlook environment in sync with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Gmail Contacts. Make a change in one, and the other is instantly updated to reflect the change. MailShadow for Google Apps is receiving a lot of attention since organizations can eliminate the expensive infrastructure, hardware, and co-location facilities required by Exchange, but still allow users to leverage the client-side productivity features in Outlook.

The Apple WWDC 2007 keynote with Steve Jobs is this Monday, June 11 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Be sure to come to PodTech where, as like last year, you can start listening to the Apple WWDC Steve Jobs Keynote podcast before Steve Jobs finishes speaking. The keynote begins at 10am.

In this keynote preview, Rio Pesino and Kevin Edwards discuss what’s likely to occur: iPod sales figures, iPhone sales estimates, Macintosh market share increases, and a Apple TV status update.

Leopard (OS X 10.5) will likely be demonstrated in greater detail, and we hope will feature ZFS in addition to previously announced features.

Also in this podcast is a round up of rumors and speculation about Apple opening up the iPhone to developers and possibly a huge initiative for developers for Apple gamming.

An Education In Google Apps: Northwestern University

Email and collaboration services were a frustration for Northwestern University’s student government. The assembly brought the problem to the administration a year ago, specifically recommending Google Apps as a potential solution. The school, now partnering with Google to address the students’ needs, will offer e-mail, calendar and Google Talk, with mailboxes fifty times larger than their previous ones.

Some say Google again has Microsoft in its sights. But there’s one small business that won’t be taking Google up on its offer.
