Krishnapura sees that, while multi-core processors have been around for awhile, now is an especially exciting time for multi-threaded software, given the uptake in industry and the increasingly urgent need for the software that will help to realize the higher performance potential of multi-core. Intel is leading the effort to adopt with key software packages and developer tools that make it easier to write multi-threaded code.
