As broadband connectivity spreads around the world, IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) is beginning to reshape the industry. In 2007, the number of households using telco/IPTV services grew to over 14 million worldwide (Parks Associates, April 2008). Broadcast International and its CodecSys compression technology leverages the limited bandwidth typical of the DSL networks many consumers access, and makes it possible to send up to four times the video channels over the same connection, with no loss in video quality.
