Bangalore is fast-emerging as a hub for wireless and mobile value added servicess startup companies. I recently caught up with Raji Poddar of Sedna Wireless to find out how and why he started his company. Doing startups in India provides some interesting challenges. Recruiting the right kind of person to work is not an an easy task either. I also wanted to find out from Rajiv the connection between getting married and working in startups, since there seems to be an interesting link. Sedna Wireless is an early-stage startup working on a WiFi device called ThinFone, a phone and music player packed into a small portable device, designed for the needs of Indian users. Rajiv is a wireless industry professional with roughly a decade of experience. He is a telecommunication gradauate from R. E. C. Silchar (now NITS), and prior to founding Sedna he worked with Tata Consultancy Services and Lucent Technologies India. Rajiv also co-organizes the Mobile Monday Bangalore chapter.
