E3 isn’t known as a showcase for sports games, but this year’s event featured some of the hottest new sports titles. Madden 09, NBA Live 09, TNA iMPACT, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 and Wii Sports: Resort were just a few of the playable games at E3. It was the highest single-month unit sales of any platform outside the holiday timeframe, according to market research firm NPD Group. The Reboot: Capcom Digital Day

Downloadable games were the focus of Capcom’s Digital Day. During the press-only event, Capcom did not talk about Street Fighter IV or Resident Evil 5. Instead, the game developer showed off an updated version of and several other games that will soon be available on Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network. In this episode of The Reboot, host Rio Pesino gives you a preview of HD Remix and other gaming news for the week, including Super Smash Bros. Brawl Disc Issues, another Xbox 360 price drop and the results of a survey that says gaming is more popular than sex. In fact, in honor of that last item, we’ve put together a little treat for viewers, featuring some interesting moments from Dead or Alive, Rumble Roses, Ms. Pac Man and Dixie Kong….

Intel at CES 2008: Go Off and Do Something Wonderful

In his CES keynote, Intel CEO and President Paul Otellini introduced the concept of virtual Smash Mouth, and with a nod to the slew of Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) on view on the massive CES show floor, as well as the newer, more powerful laptops and gaming systems on display, he made clear the significance of Intel’s 45 nanometer transistor technology. The Reboot: E for All

About 18,000 people attended the inaugural Entertainment for All Expo video game event in Los Angeles, CA. Attendees were able to play hundreds of games at the event, including Metal Gear Solid 4, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, NFL Tour and Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. E for All also hosted a number of other events, including the Video Games Live concert, Major League Gaming tournament and an NBA Live 08 video game competition between NBA ballers Derek Fisher, Corey Maggette and the “Michael Jordan” of video games, Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel. On this episode of The Reboot, host Rio Pesino previews the most popular games at the event. Also on the show, Sony’s games unit is projected to take a financial hit, Capcom plans to release yet another Resident Evil movie and Nvidia unveils its newest graphics card.

I’m Michael Johnson and we’re here at the International Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas Nevada 2007 and we’re about to go and explore some of the exciting things are happening inside, the World Series Of Video Gaming taking place inside the Intel Tent all driven by some of the best processors in the world. So, let’s go inside and check it out.

Here, to the Intel Tent you’ve been racing these cars. Now, you’ve got a chance to actually get into the stimulated environment with the Core2Duo processor and the Core2Extreme. Tell me how was the racing experience on the screen versus what you get on the real track.

For sure you Intel, their machine is so high-tech and sophisticated, so, it’s definitely more realistic than most of the stimulators I’ve tried and probably one of the most realistic out there.

It might be inspiring few others out there to hop into their go-carts and get on the race track.

Yeah, well, if you like racing and why don’t you try a go-cart and see how it goes to goes from there.

Danny Christophano - Intel
There is so much going on in the game there are lots of processes or intensive calls that they make lots of threading that they can do with the gaming. We’re able to do not only customization of the game itself with getting the BMW car into it having a few of the replica tracks developed, but also to actually have it optimized, so it can perform better on not only Duo car, but now QuadCore our Core2Extrem Processor Technology. So, fantastic game and fantastic experience on the new Intel technology.

Well, it just moved forward so quickly I mean 512 meg graphics cards. It’s just – when I started the gaming, there was like 32 meg, 64 meg. So, just seeing the exponential growth, this is huge in just so little time and also the cooling and the tool-core the Quad-core it’s more and more power all the time.
