Here I run into Bernie Aho, co-founder of ConceptShare, at the Mix BlogZone last week and he gave me a short demo. ConceptShare lets you work with designers on, say, a brochure, or a Web site design, or other design elements and projects.

What was Scoble up to one year ago today? Check out today’s video for a trip down memory lane.
And for more context, check out his blog, from one year ago today!

I was one of the few outsiders to visit eBay and witness an internal “Demo Expo.” The Demo Expo was a way for employees to come up with a new technology or feature and show it off to eBay’s employees and executives. I picked my favorite four teams, and this is one of them. Thanks to eBay’s Disruptive Innovations team, which is the one that put together the Demo Expo and invited me along. The only rule was that these projects had to use eBay’s standard publicly-available APIs.

Here Neel Sundaresan, distinguished research scientist, eBay Research Labs, shows me Emosi Sosial, which is like a tag cloud, but shows me very quickly whether a seller is highly regarded or not in the areas most important to the interested buyer.

When Celio Corporation received a 2008 CES Innovations Award this past November, the news was out that Ceilo was up to something cool. Kirt Bailey, CEO of Celio Corporation — and former Intel Capital director involved with mobility markets, sat down with Brad Baldwin of Rocky Mountain Voices and shared the story of the REDFLY Mobile Companion.

As Bailey reminds, today’s smartphones are approaching (or already have) the processing power of computers. The REDFLY unleashes the mobile computing and communication power of today’s smartphone that is trapped beneath a tiny screen. The REDFLY is a 1″x6″x9″ clamshell device that connects to a smartphone via Bluetooh or USB to enhance a smartphone with an 8″ high-resolution display, full-function keyboard, touchpad and 8-hour battery life. The REDFLY also has a standard VGA port for output to projectors and displays and charges your phone while in use.

Bailey sees a big benefit for the mobile business traveler who seeks to stay connected while shedding pounds. REDFLY lets salespeople more easily use Salesforce.com or other Web 2.0 apps, allows business managers to forecast in Excel, or helps executives keep up on email — all from their their smartphone and the 1.9 pound REDFLY.

Data centers today are under pressure from rising compute requirements, demand for storage capacity and energy costs. In this video podcast from IT@Intel, Alan Ross, principal engineer and enterprise architect with Intel IT, shares experiences, technology assessments and best practices around data center efficiency, virtualization and consolidation.

Transforming the data center requires understanding the underlying domains: facility, network, server, storage and how security interacts with manageability and other technology. The security architect has to evolve plans for business continuity and disaster recovery, as well as jump into emerging threat and risk arenas like Web application security. Facilities monitoring and management and energy savings require understanding and balancing customer service levels with the need to pinpoint where, when and how much compute power is needed, and migrating workloads accordingly. Virtualization is another game-changer in the data center, increasing capacity and manageability while decreasing energy consumption.

Alan Ross comes to enterprise architecture from an unconventional background. He holds a number of patents, has worked with electrorheological fluids to change the behavior of automotive dampers, and hopes someday to be part of future innovations in energy efficiency, photovoltaics and photolytics.

Join BearingPoint Managing Director, Robert Hilliard, as he explores Mike 2.0 and the opportunities it offers to Information Management.

Mike 2.0 is a web 2.0 technique that is used to simplify the complexity of finding data. It takes out many of the steps that are currently taken to manage and allocate important information. With a less than stellar performance in the past, Information Management led many people to believe that securing data was a threat and not an opportunity. With the introduction of Mike 2.0, BearingPoint has engaged in a competitive advantage over our competitors.

BearingPoint has spent many years developing a strategy that could target the threats commonly seen with Information Management. The important element was recognizing the challenges and developing a strategic solution. By using Mike 2.0, the client becomes familiar with a new method for extracting data, one that take less time and money.

BearingPoint’s Information Management solutions help your organization understand its toughest information management challenges and begin the journey to learn more.

This is the third of three podcasts focusing on the practical side of Sales 2.0. In this interview, Jeff Weinberger, who leads marketing for sales solutions at WebEx, talks with Stu Schmidt, vice president of Solutions at WebEx, about measuring the Sales 2.0 business. Stu has 25 years of experience in the tech industry, including 10 years developing sales methodologies for companies of all sizes, and he developed the innovative sales process at WebEx.

With so much talk about Sales 2.0, it’s easy to think about it in terms of technology. This series of podcasts discusses why Sales 2.0 is not about the technology, but rather how the technology empowers your sales force to achieve unprecedented results.

The focus of this third podcast is measurement. In a Sales 2.0 business, measurement is as important - maybe more important - than ever. In this installment, you’ll learn why measuring results can lead you astray, how to measure what really counts, and why focusing on change rather than static numbers makes your whole sales process and outcome more predictable.

Tom Foremski, editor of Silicon Valley Watcher, led a panel discussion on Day 1 of the Fall Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco. The panel dealt directly with the friction that often arises between the burgeoning social media forces in the enterprise and the IT groups that find themselves in opposition to the kinds of needs created by those newer social networks.

The panel in this podcast includes Peter Kaminski, CTO of Socialtext, Jackie Medecki, attorney for social media and marketing at Intel, Jeff Moriarty, a social media/Web 2.0 design engineer at Intel, John Miner, an IT methodologist at Intel, and Eleanor Wynn, a social technology architect at Intel

It’s IT’s stereotypical response (”No”) to questions about setting up blogs and wikis, that prompts the debate. But as John Miner points out, most large companies inherently already have blogs and wikis — they just don’t realize it. This, he says, is because they tend to grow organically inside of large IT structures. But the fact is that the candor and conversation that make up the substance of blogs and wikis do tend to threaten some of the structures of the enterprise — especially when it comes to legal concerns.

How does Intel handle the challenges? Especially when it comes to the “gray areas?” This video podcast shows how one large corporation is navigating social media in the enterprise.

MacDonald says advertisers have always wanted to know exactly who listened to their ads on radio or saw them in magazines. You cannot click on a newspaper ad. But with features like interactivity and social media that add value to online adverts, the Internet promises to increase the effectiveness of messages. Jason Lopez recorded this podcast for PodTech at the Convergence 2.0 conference, presented by The Deal, in New York City.
