From games to television, from large systems to handhelds, the demand on hardware and software platforms will be to run large amounts of data more efficiently with less power. Some of the breakthroughs to bring video and audio more easily and seamlessly to users include the scalable Nehalem chip architecture, the Media Processor CE 3100, and the architecture codenamed Larrabee.

Join BearingPoint Senior Vice President Marcel Nickler as he explores the importance of IT governance. In today’s difficult economical environment, there is a lot of pressure to deliver more services and performance with less or limited resources. There is also a clear expectation towards IT, which is that the services offered and delivered upon must support the further development of the business in an increasingly international or even global environment.

The convergence of business and IT has offered the advantage of merging the respective strategies of each. This collaboration is a must when aiming to reach a competitive advantage through application IT. With increasing IT costs over the last year, there’s been significant pressure to deliver. By joining business and IT, the related business advantage is obvious; important decisions are jointly agreed upon by the board members, business management and the IT department.

In today’s market, organizations need to take proper steps to solve their IT governance problems. They must establish a focused management team and have control of projects, investments and IT services. This will create short term impact and better results for future success. Stringent IT Governance can improve the competitiveness and adaptability of a company. The establishment of IT Governance is a very challenging obstacle, but the end result is always a success.

Join BearingPoint Senior Business Advisor Jaime Garza to discuss the call for better management of information to support profitability measurement and pricing in today’s U.S. interest rate environment. Changing interest rates affect all of us when it comes to our personal savings accounts and other financial services. The interest rate movements have begun to have an impact in new ways - especially for mid-size and larger institutions.

The key step to enhancing information is to look at the situation across your entire company to evaluate where the problem lies. Once you’ve focused on the business requirement, you can easily see where the technology fits in. When a company has enhanced information and data, they have a better chance at success. The organization also must have the ability to react to market changes, and better yet, be proactive.

Since the mid 1990’s, BearingPoint has been involved in multiple corporate performance measurement initiatives aimed at providing better management of information. It approaches this task in various ways: Focusing on strategy and design, sometimes even building the end solution from the current situation, and being tasked with end-to-end solutions, BearingPoint typically has teams that are both functionally and technically rich, leading to a great partnership for success.

This podcast is the second in a series covering the basic design considerations that customers of all sizes should be mindful of as they begin to explore the many benefits of VDI. John Dodge takes a pragmatic, layered approach in working towards a framework in designing flexible, and scalable VDI deployments, as is discussed in this podcast. From Thin Clients, to PC’s, to connectivity and networks, to security, DMZ, and firewall considerations, to connection broker topology, then into the host, hypervisor, storage, operating system, and lastly application and user profile layer - all combine to provide a best practices model for elegantly designing new desktop architectures using VMware VDI and Thinapp.

Not being social enough is a big problem for corporations trying to use social media. That’s what Jeremiah Owyang and his team at Forrester discovered in a new report. Forrester selected 16 firms across four industries and found only one company worthy of accolades. What makes BMW a social marketing winner? In part, it’s that the automobile manufacturer managed to avoid the most common pitfalls, which is still where most firms fell short. Some examples of those easy-to-make mistakes: creating marketing programs that aren’t self-fueling, that don’t encourage members to participate in conversations amongst themselves and that don’t include some amount of participation from the corporation, itself.

Jeremiah discusses his findings with Jennifer Jones in this Marketing Voices podcast.

This Podcast covers the basic requirements customers of all sizes should consider in begging to look at alternative ways to architect their desktop populations. As we like to say, the desktop is no longer a NOUN, or a singular physical asset that we provision and deploy to end users, waiting for it or its software components to break then fix. The Desktop is in fact a VERB, it is something you do, it is really a workspace where computers, applications, and users converge so they can do the jobs we assign to them. VMware Enterprise Desktop solutions, including VDI and Thinapp allow us to do just that. However, any successful deployment hinges on a successful assessment of what your users need, today, to “desktop”.
