Bookmarking, tagging, and social software comes to the Enterprise

When you have hundreds — or even thousands — of people working together at the same company, keeping track of all of that knowledge is important. The problem is that before now no one liked using knowledge management systems. When I left Microsoft and NEC I left with gigs of knowledge locked up in email systems. Puneet Gupta, CEO of ConnectBeam, believes he has a better way. Here, he discusses how Web 2.0 concepts are changing enterprise software.

Mad Mojitos at the Ritz: talking tech with CEOs from B5 Media and SmugMug

On weekends I like to walk down to the Half Moon Bay Ritz Carlton resort. It’s nice, as you’ll see (stick around for the bagpiper at the end, he comes down playing his music every Saturday an hour before sunset). Anyway, on a recent weekend Jeremy Wright, CEO and founder of B5 Media, a blogging network, came to visit me. While at the Ritz we met up with Don MacAskill, CEO of SmugMug, a popular photo-sharing service.

So why call this “Mad Mojitos?” Well, before we turned on the camera we had one of the Ritz’ famous Peach Mojitos. It’s a good way to get CEOs to loosen up a little bit and share more about what makes their businesses special.
