Zaw Thet, CEO at 4Info, is doing some remarkable things for cell phones. Yeah, you can use 4Info to search from your phone, but 4Info is so much more. Their advertising can be seen on the front page of the sports section in USA Today so this isn’t a fly-by-night company and they are building an interesting platform to build a whole range of mobile-phone-centric services. Cisco makes videoconferencing cool with new telepresence systems

Cisco yesterday announced the TelePresence 3000 but last week Robert Scoble got to attend a demo of the system with his camera. This is a new kind of videoconferencing room, one where you feel you’re actually in the same room with the remote participants. It’s the kind of thing you’ve got to experience to understand.

Make calls anywhere for free with Jajah

Roman Scharf, Jajah’s CEO, talks about what Jajah is trying to accomplish - they are one of a handful of companies that let you call overseas for free, or a very low price, with your regular phone. Sorta like Skype, but because they use regular phones more people will be able to use their service, Roman says.

Lunching with Mark Cuban

Yesterday, Mark Cuban spoke at the Consumer Electronics Association luncheon. Before he spoke I had lunch with him and asked him for a quick comment on his hopes for the Dallas Mavericks basketball team (he’s the owner) and his thoughts on what’s happening in the HDTV market (he’s an investor in HDNet, which makes and distributes content for HD screens).
