Inventor of the Web talks about future of the Web

Tim Berners-Lee, on Tuesday, visited HP Labs in Palo Alto where he talked with employees and the press about the trends he’s seen happen on the Web and where its future lies. He’s working with the Web Science Research Initiative and the University of Southampton in England on a variety of research initiatives, mostly focused around developing technologies for the semantic Web and social software. He talked at length about the coming shift of the Web away from pages to more granular information that can be displayed as pages, as graphs, or in other ways.

WorldTV.com is a unique way to collect and share your favorite videos. I interview Alx Klive, CEO, and he shows me Worldtv.com and shares with me what they’ll be doing in the near future. I’m using the system to collect YouTube videos and build a feed of those for my family and friends to watch.

Build your own live TV station with Mogulus

Mogulus is the most interesting of all the streaming services like Justin.tv, Ustream.tv, and Stickcam. Why? Because they built their system around a TV station metaphor. You know, multiple cameras. Switchers. Producers. Graphic overlays. Here Max Haot, CEO, shows off Mogulus and talks with us about how he used the system to do the live streaming from Om Malik’s NewTeeVee Conference. I watched at home and it was awesome — almost looked too slick at times.

San Jose Mercury News photojournalist uses VuVox to tell photostory

Photojournalist Richard Hernandez, who’s worked for the San Jose Mercury News (Silicon Valley’s biggest newspaper) for 13 years shows off how he uses a new service from VuVox to build a new kind of photostory based on a collage. He shows how he overlays audio, video, and other pictures and links to tell a new kind of story.

Photowalking above Silicon Valley
