Just had a hellish experience with cFares, followed by the worst customer service treatment I’ve ever had.
A friend booked a ticket with cfares, and her visa debit card was charged. But at the ticket counter she was denied boarding, because the airline showed she had not booked a ticket. She called me and asked for help, becayse her English is not very good. I called cFares, and their agent, Alan, who gave me her ticket number (in violation of federal law I am sure). Alas, this ticket number was associated with a much earlier flight. which she had missed. Because her ticket was a low fare ticket, the airline wouldn’t let her switch to the flight she had thought she’d booked (and had a printout from cfares showing that she’d booked and paid for).
I talked to Alan again, and asked that cfares send compensation to her. He got really hostile, accused me of possibly being a terrorist (what?!) and yelled and screamed. I hung up on him. He emailed me and threatened legal action if I posted the story on the web.
This company is a sorry excuse for a business. Certainly it is not a company I’d recommend anyone patronize, not with the technical problems and the bad customer service.
