Mogulus is the most interesting of all the streaming services like Justin.tv, Ustream.tv, and Stickcam. Why? Because they built their system around a TV station metaphor. You know, multiple cameras. Switchers. Producers. Graphic overlays. Here Max Haot, CEO, shows off Mogulus and talks with us about how he used the system to do the live streaming from Om Malik’s NewTeeVee Conference. I watched at home and it was awesome — almost looked too slick at times.

Between the coverage provided by Scoble & Pirillo, we decided to test Mogulus to launch our own TV station: www.palodurorecords.com/tv

The studio is really cool to use, although we’ve had some streaming quality issues — not sure if Amazon S3 is the best platform. But hey, it’s still in BETA

Our ‘broadcast’ is mostly canned footage, a lot of fan-provided content, but we’re looking into some live broadcasts/concerts in teh future.

Overall, cool stuff — I hope they make it.

It’s amazing to see how Amazon is powering these new startups.

I think Google and Microsoft have some major catching up to do!

[…] This interview with Mogulus’ CEO and Chris Pirillo’s pioneering efforts with his own live TV channel played a key role in getting me to see that there’s a new kind of TV channel possible — one that’s participatory instead of one-way — and one that would be very low cost and potentially have high revenue possibilities compared to the cost.
